Research

Not only do we learn by doing through labs and formal coursework, but also through faculty-supervised research projects. The department encourages all of its students, whether they’re an undergraduate or a graduate, to become actively involved in a project as soon as they are able to. Opportunities to take part occur during both the academic year and the summer (through the funded summer research program).

For more information about our Learn By Doing undergraduate experience please visit our interactive ebook More Than a Motto

From teaching-based inquiry to polymer fabrication to investigations of natural processes, there's something of interest to everyone in the projects proposed by faculty. More information can be found on individual faculty profiles and on this Faculty Research Interests file (PDF).
